Facilities Management Engineer

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa is seeking a Facilities Management Engineer to lead the planning, delivery and oversight of preventive and corrective maintenance for its building systems and infrastructure in Addis Ababa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, elevators and site services.
• Manage internal teams and external service providers, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
• Conduct inspections, evaluate system performance and develop implementation plans for maintenance needs.
• Provide technical support across the ECA compound and sub‑regional offices, ensuring consistent maintenance practices.
• Advise on technical solutions for system failures, infrastructure inefficiencies and energy optimisation.
• Participate in planning missions, site assessments and technical consultations related to operations and maintenance.
