Movement Operations Assistant (Field Support)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Movement Operations Assistant to provide field support for the organized movement of migrants and refugees. The role involves direct interaction with individuals at airports, transit centres, camps and other facilities, ensuring safe and efficient travel processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide airport services such as custodial care of travel documents, identity verification, check‑in assistance, luggage handling, immigration and customs procedures.
• Escort arriving and departing individuals, confirm flight status, and support persons with special needs or equipment.
• Assist at transit centres and third‑party facilities with sign‑in, orientation, distribution of food and non‑food items, room assignments, briefings and issue resolution.
• Enter and update data in IOM systems, reporting any incidents immediately to supervisors.
• Offer extended support up to 12 hours, including overnight and weekend periods, to ensure continuous assistance.

Required profile

• Ability to work in fast‑paced, multicultural environments and handle vulnerable populations with sensitivity.
• Strong attention to detail for document verification and data entry.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
• Good physical stamina for extended periods of field work.
