Programme Support Officer – Joint Labour Migration Programme

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Programme Support Officer to contribute to the Joint Labour Migration Programme (JLMP) in Africa. Working under the Director of SLO in Addis Ababa and the JLMP Programme Coordinator at the African Union Commission, the officer will support the implementation of intra‑African labour migration initiatives aligned with the AU Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and logistical support to the JLMP steering committee and programme coordinator.
• Assist in the preparation, monitoring and reporting of programme activities, budgets and deliverables.
• Coordinate communication among partner organisations (AU, ILO, GIZ, UNDP, etc.) and facilitate information flow.
• Maintain programme documentation, databases and filing systems in accordance with IOM standards.
• Support the organization of workshops, meetings and field missions related to labour migration governance.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience in programme administration, project support or international development.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and liaise with multiple UN and regional partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with data entry and basic database management.
