Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

About the role

The Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of Amhara Bank's Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) framework. This role ensures that strategic initiatives, operational plans, and key performance indicators are tracked, analyzed, and reported accurately to support informed decision‑making across the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Division Manager in their absence.
• Participate in developing, reviewing, and implementing division policies, procedures, plans and budgets.
• Mentor and enable staff to achieve effective performance.
• Uphold the bank’s code of conduct and promote its corporate image.
• Provide services in line with service level agreements.
• Lead the design and implementation of a bank‑wide M&E framework.
• Develop, refine, and maintain KPIs for major operational and strategic initiatives.
• Prepare comprehensive performance reports for the Board and Senior Management, highlighting trends, risks, and recommendations.
• Conduct advanced data analysis to identify gaps, underperformance, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead deep‑dive investigations and root‑cause analysis for underperforming branches or departments.
• Collaborate with the Strategy and Corporate Planning Division to align performance metrics with strategic goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Statistics, Economics, Project Management or a related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant banking experience, including at least two years in an officer‑level position.
• Proven ability to lead M&E initiatives and manage performance reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
