Senior Project Associate – MHPSS Contractor

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking an experienced Affiliate Contractor to serve as a Senior Project Associate for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities in Jinka, South Ethiopia. The role supports post‑Marburg virus response efforts, contributing to disease surveillance and community health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring project activities.
• Compile, analyse and present data on project topics, highlighting key issues for decision‑makers.
• Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as needed.
• Act as the focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external partners.
• Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics and statistical tables.
• Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions, preparing materials and delivering capacity‑building sessions.
• Respond to complex information requests, maintain project files and records.
• Maintain liaison with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
• Monitor implementing partners for compliance and report any issues.
• Contribute to SOPs, concept papers and new project development.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff as assigned.

Required profile

• School diploma with at least six years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in project coordination, monitoring and reporting in health or humanitarian settings.
• Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage administrative processes.
• Strong analytical and budgeting skills.
