Vaccine Manufacturing Specialist

About the role

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking a Vaccine Manufacturing Specialist to strengthen the continent’s vaccine and biologics manufacturing ecosystem. The role will support manufacturers in advancing their capabilities from technology transfer through to market entry.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership to strengthen the vaccine and biologics manufacturing ecosystem across Africa.
• Support African vaccine manufacturers throughout the product lifecycle, including product prioritisation, technology transfer, scale‑up, regulatory pathways and operational readiness.
• Facilitate implementation of Africa CDC / PHAHM initiatives related to manufacturing, workforce development and market entry.
• Coordinate with the Local Manufacturing Coordinator and other stakeholders to align manufacturing activities with continental strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vaccine or biologics manufacturing and technology transfer.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for vaccines and biologics in African contexts.
• Ability to work with multi‑disciplinary teams and provide technical guidance.
