Procurement Internship – Addis Ababa

About the role

The Procurement Internship at the World Food Programme in Addis Ababa offers structured, hands‑on experience supporting the delivery of procurement services for humanitarian operations. Interns will work closely with the Procurement Unit to enhance supplier relationship management, vendor onboarding, and digital procurement workflows while gaining insight into data analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in routine procurement activities, including preparation of purchase orders and contracts.
• Support supplier relationship management and vendor onboarding processes.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of digital procurement workflows.
• Help conduct market research, data analysis, and preparation of management reports.
• Participate in procurement planning and tracking activities.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Interest in humanitarian work and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Understanding of basic procurement processes.
• Familiarity with data analysis concepts.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office).
