About the role

The Senior Attorney will lead the bank’s legal activities, focusing on loan litigation, enforcement of legal notices and management of foreclosed assets. Reporting to the Legal Services Manager, the role contributes to protecting the bank’s interests and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian law.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and sign legal notice forms to be served on defaulters.
Draft statements of claim and defence for loan litigation.
Represent the bank in court hearings, appeals and execution proceedings.
Oversee evaluation and auction of foreclosed properties.
Lead and supervise junior attorneys and legal teams as assigned.
Assist the Directorate in preparing and submitting periodic reports.

Required profile

LLB degree.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
