Storytelling and Editorial Associate

About the role

The Storytelling & Editorial Associate will create clear, compelling written content that advances Inkomoko’s campaigns, thought leadership and external visibility. Reporting to the Campaigns & Thought Leadership Manager, the role spans writing, editing, coordination and content sourcing across teams and countries.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and edit press releases, newsletters, website pages and campaign materials, applying the Message House and proof standards.
• Copy‑edit website content and support updates in collaboration with digital and brand teams.
• Coordinate editorial inputs for the annual report, newsletters and major publications, managing timelines and reviews.
• Collect impact stories from teams across countries, maintain an editorial calendar and ensure consistent voice and tone.
• Support thought‑leadership content, develop interview questions and editorial framing for podcasts and media projects.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in content creation, writing and editing, preferably in communications, campaigns, journalism or a mission‑driven organization.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading abilities with the capacity to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proven ability to collaborate across campaigns, digital media, brand, development and country teams.
• Interest in storytelling, social impact, entrepreneurship and economic inclusion; experience in East Africa is a plus.
