Superintendent – Drill & Blast (m/f)

About the role

The Superintendent – Drill & Blast is responsible for overseeing all drilling and blasting activities within a mining operation. The role ensures that teams and resources are managed efficiently, complying with safety, environmental, and quality standards while maintaining high productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise daily drilling and blasting operations.
• Manage and allocate personnel, equipment, and materials to meet production targets.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and present operational reports to senior management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• Secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent technical qualification (preferred).
• Proven experience in mining projects, preferably gold mines, with a focus on Drill & Blast.
• Fluency in English (preferred).
• Strong initiative, proactive attitude, and excellent planning and organisational abilities.
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and build effective teams.
• Willingness to relocate.
