Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accountant to join our client’s finance team in Addis Ababa. The role involves managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial reports while ensuring full compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Process day‑to‑day accounting transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare financial statements, regular management reports, and cash‑flow analyses.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash positions.
• Prepare and file tax, VAT, and other statutory declarations on time.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 + years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Well‑organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and high integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
