Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will join Sololo Engineering PLC in Addis Ababa to manage daily financial operations and support the company’s engineering projects. This full‑time, on‑site role ensures accurate recording, reporting, and compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Record transactions, maintain general ledgers, and prepare periodic financial statements.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and monitor cash flow.
• Track expenses, support budget preparation and ongoing monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, prepare required tax documents, and assist with internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with project and operations teams to provide accurate financial data and support cost control.

Required profile

• Strong background in financial accounting and general ledger management.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and audit support procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA or CPA certification is a plus.
• Experience in engineering, construction, or project‑based environments is beneficial.
