AI Automation Consultant

About the role

We develop and operate software that schedules work crews, sends job details via text, and manages payments. An AI generates most of the code, but we need a human to define what gets built and to verify the AI’s output. This role is the bridge between vague user complaints and reliable, production‑ready features.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret ambiguous issues (e.g., “the schedule is wrong sometimes”) and identify the real problem before making changes.
• Write clear specifications for new features, including what they should and should not do.
• Use AI tools to generate code, then rigorously review the output for correctness and security.
• Test new functionality on real data with safeguards, ensuring nothing reaches live users without validation.
• When failures occur, contain the impact, trace all affected components, and fix the root cause.
• Provide concise status updates for the team.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience delivering a real, production‑level software component that others depend on.
• Strong analytical mindset; you do not accept “it works” without independent verification.
• Ability to anticipate edge cases such as bad input, duplicate jobs, timezone differences, or missed messages.
• Comfort with uncertainty and a willingness to say “I don’t know yet, here’s how I’ll find out.”
• No formal degree or specific language requirement; judgment and problem‑solving ability are essential.

Required skills

• Proficiency in reading and understanding code written by others.
• Experience with testing software on real datasets.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted code generation tools.

• Starting salary of $1,000 per month, with performance reviews after the first few weeks and after demonstrated results.
