Architectural Model Maker (Contract)

About the role

Roha Interior and Architects is seeking a skilled Model Maker to join its on‑site team in Addis Ababa on a contract basis. You will create high‑quality physical models that translate architectural concepts into tangible representations, supporting the design process from concept to presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Construct precise physical models that reflect architectural designs and client requirements.
• Prototype components using a variety of materials and techniques.
• Utilize computer‑aided design (CAD) software to develop model specifications.
• Interpret technical drawings and collaborate closely with architects and designers.
• Operate machining tools and equipment safely and accurately.
• Ensure all models meet project specifications and design intent.

Required profile

• Proficiency in prototyping and model‑building techniques.
• Experience with CAD software for model preparation.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of machining tools and related equipment.
• Keen attention to detail and high craftsmanship standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a design team.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant certification in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in model making is highly desirable.
