Assistant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Manager role at Hibret Bank is a full‑time, on‑site position in Addis Ababa. The role supports branch or departmental operations by overseeing daily workflows, coordinating staff activities, and ensuring high customer‑service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor transaction processing and ensure accuracy.
• Assist with compliance, risk control, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare routine operational reports and performance metrics.
• Support implementation of banking policies and procedures.
• Coach, guide, and supervise team members.
• Resolve complex customer issues and escalations.
• Collaborate with senior management to meet performance and service quality targets.

Required profile

• Strong experience in team coordination and staff supervision within banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to manage day‑to‑day operational oversight and workflow management.
• Experience in customer service and handling escalated inquiries.
• Knowledge of banking products, regulatory requirements, compliance procedures, and basic risk management.
• Ability to prepare and review operational reports, monitor metrics, and drive process improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or related field; banking certification or training is an advantage.
