Banker – Customer Service & Transactions

About the role

The Banker role is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Addis Ababa. You will serve customers by opening and maintaining accounts, processing deposits and withdrawals, and handling payments and transfers while providing accurate information on banking products.

Key responsibilities

• Open new accounts, update existing ones, and ensure all customer records are current.
• Process cash transactions, deposits, withdrawals, payments and transfers accurately.
• Provide product information, advise customers on suitable banking services, and support loan applications.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with branch colleagues to meet performance targets and resolve customer issues promptly.

Required profile

• Strong customer service, relationship management and communication skills.
• Cash handling, transaction processing and basic accounting abilities.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail capabilities.
• Sales, cross‑selling and product knowledge to promote banking services.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with banking software and digital channels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field (preferred).
• Prior experience in retail banking, financial services or customer‑facing roles (advantageous).
• Integrity, adherence to regulatory and compliance standards, and teamwork orientation.
