Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Ethiopia

About the role

The company is looking for a highly experienced Chief Executive Officer to jointly lead its operations in Ethiopia alongside the Chinese General Manager. The CEO will shape and execute the Ethiopia strategy, drive sustainable growth, and ensure strong financial and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the annual business plan and medium‑to‑long‑term strategy for the Ethiopian market.
• Take overall responsibility for P&L, revenue, profitability, market share, operating costs and cash flow.
• Build and maintain relationships with Ethiopian government authorities, regulatory bodies and key banking institutions.
• Lead financing, foreign‑exchange and cross‑border payment management to support local operations.
• Oversee business operations, resource allocation and coordination across supply chain, sales, marketing, finance and HR.
• Drive market development, sales, distribution and channel strategies for consumer electronics, mobile phones and FMCG.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA preferred.
• Native‑level Amharic/Oromo and business‑fluent English.
• 10+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years in senior management (Country Manager, CEO, VP, Director).
• Proven track record in P&L management, budgeting, cost control and delivering measurable results.
• Extensive experience working with Ethiopian government institutions and major local banks.
• Industry experience in mobile phones, consumer electronics, FMCG, retail or telecommunications is preferred.
