Compliance and Systems Director – Ethiopia

About the role

People in Need, an international humanitarian NGO, is seeking a Compliance and Systems Director for its Ethiopia programme. Based in Addis Ababa, you will join the senior management team to ensure that all programme activities meet donor and internal compliance requirements while supporting efficient logistics, procurement, finance and HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance to staff on the interpretation and implementation of donor contractual requirements and internal procedures.
• Oversee and improve support systems across logistics, procurement, finance and HR to meet accountability standards.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives for department staff and ensure a compliant operating environment.
• Manage the Head of Finance, Head of Operations and HR Manager, reporting to the Country Director.
• Coordinate with the Regional Head of Systems and Operations at HQ and collaborate with programme managers on compliance matters.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑management experience in compliance, finance or operations within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Strong knowledge of donor regulations and ability to translate them into practical procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional teams and capacity‑building skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of local context is an advantage.
