Consortium Coordinator – EC Funded Project Lead

About the role

The Consortium Coordinator will join People in Need’s country programme in Ethiopia, leading the implementation of the EU‑funded consortium project “Empowering Futures for Youth and Women beyond Agriculture”. Based in Addis Ababa, the role involves regular travel to project sites across Tigray, Oromia and Afar.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the overall coordination, timeliness and quality of the consortium project.
• Act as the primary focal point for all consortium partners, ensuring smooth communication and joint decision‑making.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with government bodies, donor agencies, TVET colleges and private sector actors.
• Collaborate with the Head of Development Programs, Deputy Country Director, Finance and MEAL heads to align technical and financial reporting.
• Facilitate the creation and operation of project platforms and coordination mechanisms as defined in the project plan.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating multi‑partner development or humanitarian projects.
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian development context, especially in agriculture, youth and women empowerment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with government and donor stakeholders.
• Ability to travel frequently across remote regions.
