Development Officer – Community Programs

About the role

The Development Officer will design, implement and oversee community development programs that improve well‑being for vulnerable children and families. The role works closely with community members, local organisations and government agencies to deliver inclusive initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of community programmes such as Saving for Transformation, Empower World View, Gender Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion, Child Protection and Growth Monitoring.
• Build strong relationships with community leaders, local partners and stakeholders to foster ownership and participation.
• Develop and apply monitoring and evaluation frameworks, collect data and produce reports for donors and government agencies.
• Advocate for policy changes and conduct awareness campaigns on child rights, gender equality and economic inclusion.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in community development, child protection or livelihood programmes.
• Proven experience implementing GEDSI‑responsive programmes and familiarity with World Vision interventions.
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, gender studies or related field; master’s degree is an advantage.
• Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English and local languages.
