EMAP+ Resource Package Adaptation Consultant – Ethiopia

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a qualified consultant to adapt and finalize the EMAP+ (Engaging Men through Accountable Practice Plus) resource package for Ethiopia. This short‑term assignment supports the POWER program (2025‑2027) funded by Irish Aid and contributes to the Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) sub‑outcome on gender‑based violence prevention.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing EMAP+ materials and tailor them to the Ethiopian cultural and security context.
• Develop a finalized resource package, including facilitator guides, participant tools, and monitoring templates.
• Ensure alignment with the Global Violence Prevention and Response Unit (VPRU) reporting requirements.
• Coordinate closely with the IRC WPE Coordinator and the East Africa WPE Technical Advisor.
• Incorporate evidence‑based gender‑based violence prevention approaches and gender‑sensitive language.
• Deliver a concise report with recommendations for implementation and scaling.

Required profile

• Proven experience in gender‑based violence prevention or men’s engagement programmes.
• Familiarity with EMAP+ methodology or similar gender‑transformative approaches.
• Background working in humanitarian or development settings, preferably in the Horn of Africa.
• Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
