About the role
The Emergency Agriculture Officer will facilitate the implementation of emergency agriculture components within an integrated multi‑sector project. The role involves beneficiary selection, distribution of crop and livestock inputs, and delivering agricultural training in partnership with local woreda agriculture offices.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate selection, registration and verification of beneficiary households and submit lists to the Emergency Livelihood Project Coordinator.
- Prepare and execute input distribution plans, document distributions and report outcomes.
- Organise and conduct training sessions for agricultural extension agents and targeted beneficiaries.
- Monitor project implementation, collect field data, and report progress, challenges and lessons learned.
- Ensure project information is shared, manage complaints and provide feedback to stakeholders.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years experience in agriculture/livelihood project implementation or emergency response.
- BSc in Agriculture or a related field.
- NGO experience preferred, with experience working in hardship or emergency environments.
- Ability to travel to and work in remote, difficult‑to‑access woredas.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
