Emergency WASH Officer/Engineer

About the role

Under the guidance of the Field‑Level Emergency Response/Hub/AP Manager and the National Office Emergency WASH Manager, the incumbent will lead the full implementation of the DHR‑funded WASH component of the multi‑sectoral emergency intervention across the RISE project areas. The role covers feasibility studies, preparation of BOQs and bid documents, construction and rehabilitation of water supply systems and latrines, and emergency WASH NFI distributions while ensuring close collaboration with protection and health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, prepare and review designs, BOQs and bid documents for WASH facilities.
• Oversee construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of water supply systems, VIP and household latrines.
• Manage emergency WASH NFI distributions and monitor hygiene and sanitation promotion activities.
• Provide technical support to protection, livelihood and health sectors during integrated multisectoral emergency implementation.
• Ensure gender, protection, environment and other cross‑cutting issues are integrated into all WASH activities.
• Prepare, organise and share regular reports, case stories and monitoring data in line with established guidelines.

Required profile

• 2 years experience for MSc holders or 4 years for BSc holders in WASH programmes within an international NGO, preferably emergency WASH operations.
• Degree in Water Resources/Hydraulic, Water Supply, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Excellent English communication skills and basic computer software proficiency.
