Epidemiology Research Assistant

About the role

Epivantage is seeking an Epidemiology Research Assistant to join its team in Addis Ababa. The successful candidate will support epidemiologic studies and data‑driven projects that inform cancer research, clinical trial design, and market assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with study design, protocol implementation, and coordination with laboratory or clinical partners.
• Conduct systematic literature reviews and support data collection activities.
• Perform basic data cleaning, preliminary statistical analyses, and contribute to report, presentation, and manuscript preparation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of research procedures and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, biomedical sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Strong analytical and quantitative assessment abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software such as R, Stata, or SPSS.
• Advanced Excel skills for data management and analysis.
