Excel Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to serve as the backbone of our data operations. Working remotely with finance, marketing and operations teams across Africa, you will design advanced spreadsheet tools, automated dashboards and interactive templates that turn raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables and interactive dashboards.
• Develop and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction and report generation.
• Clean, validate and merge large datasets from multiple sources using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Create dynamic forecasting, budgeting and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors and ensure 100 % data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into clear visual formats and train cross‑functional remote teams on reporting templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management or financial modelling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines across African time zones.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA macro development and custom scripting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and SQL databases.
