Finance & Grants Officer

About the role

The Finance & Grants Officer supports the full financial lifecycle of donor‑funded awards, from proposal development through to close‑out and audit preparation. This fixed‑term position ensures accountability, transparency, and compliance with both donor and organisational financial requirements while contributing to the overall financial health of the programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing budgets, collecting supporting documentation, and conducting variance analysis for grant awards.
• Maintain financial reporting systems, track expenditures, and produce donor‑specific financial reports.
• Coordinate with partner teams and field accounting staff to ensure proper tracking, utilisation, and disposition of procured goods.
• Support vendor screening, audit schedule preparation, and documentation for donor audits.
• Contribute to budgeting for government and multilateral donor‑funded projects.
• Provide training to program staff on financial management requirements for institutional, government, and multilateral grants.
• Uphold child‑protection standards and report any concerns according to Compassion’s policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience working with donor‑funded grants, preferably in a non‑profit or humanitarian setting.
• Strong understanding of grant lifecycle, compliance, and audit processes.
• Commitment to child‑protection principles and organisational ethics.
