General Manager – Financial Intermediation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the operations and growth of a newly established financial intermediation company in Ethiopia. This senior leadership position requires strong financial‑services expertise, the ability to execute strategy, and a deep understanding of governance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall operations, implement the business strategy and operational plan, and manage client relationships.
• Build, manage, and develop a high‑performing team while establishing effective operational processes and internal controls.
• Ensure corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and work closely with the Board and senior management.
• Represent the company with regulators, investors, and business partners and support business development in capital‑market services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Management or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services, with at least 3 years in senior management or executive‑level roles.
• Proven experience in banking, insurance, micro‑finance, investment banking, investment management or corporate finance.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Deep understanding of governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements, with high professional integrity and sound judgment.
