Health & Nutrition Coordinator (Sekota)

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Coordinator will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of health and nutrition interventions within the ECHO‑funded Area‑Based Approach (ABA) programme in Sekota, Ethiopia. Reporting to the Programme Operations team, the role ensures integration of services across sectors and strengthens coordination with partners, government and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership, coordination and oversight for health and nutrition activities under the ABA programme.
• Ensure effective planning, integration, quality delivery and monitoring of interventions within a multisectoral framework.
• Strengthen coordination among consortium partners, government health structures, humanitarian actors and community stakeholders.
• Support evidence‑based decision‑making, joint needs analysis, service mapping, referral pathways and adaptive programming.
• Serve as the central technical focal point for service mapping, referral systems, continuity of care and health‑nutrition surveillance.
• Lead monitoring, reporting, learning and adaptive management of programme activities.
• Provide technical support, capacity building and quality assurance to implementing partners and frontline staff.
• Ensure compliance with child safeguarding Level 3 requirements and SCI fraud, bribery and corruption policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health and nutrition programming, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
• Strong knowledge of multisectoral ABA frameworks and ECHO‑funded initiatives.
• Ability to conduct joint needs assessments, surveillance and data analysis.
• Experience coordinating with government health offices, health facilities and NGOs.
• Understanding of child safeguarding Level 3 and ethical compliance standards.
• Excellent reporting, monitoring and adaptive management skills.
