Human Resources Officer

About the role

Daye Transport is looking for a Human Resources Officer to manage HR activities for its driver, mechanic, dispatcher and administrative teams. The role focuses on recruitment, performance management, employee relations and compliance within Ethiopia’s transport sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, onboarding and documentation for drivers, mechanics, dispatchers and office staff.
• Verify driver licences, maintain employee records and manage HR documentation.
• Handle employee relations, grievances, conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate training on road safety, regulatory compliance and customer service.
• Administer payroll inputs, leave management and employee benefits.
• Prepare HR reports on turnover, attendance and training performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian labour law and transport sector regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in transport, logistics or service industries.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labour law and HR best practices.
• Experience managing operational staff, especially drivers, is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, organisational and conflict‑resolution abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HR information systems.
