International Communications Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ethiopia seeks an experienced communications professional to support its Media and Communications Unit. The consultant will enhance visibility of IOM’s migration programmes, produce high‑quality content and manage digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, edit and produce press releases, stories, social media posts, newsletters and reports.
• Update IOM Ethiopia’s website and social media channels, ensuring timely and accurate information.
• Coordinate media relations, including preparing press materials and supporting high‑level visits.
• Organise events, campaigns and outreach activities, providing branding and documentation.
• Monitor media coverage and prepare regular communication impact reports.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum five years of professional communication experience, preferably with international organisations or NGOs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital communication tools and content management systems.
• Videography and photography expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator.
