IYCF Officer

About the role

The IYCF‑E Officer will lead and strengthen Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies interventions to prevent malnutrition and improve feeding practices among infants and young children (0–23 months) in emergency‑affected areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of IYCF‑E interventions in line with national guidelines and international standards.
• Establish and support Mother‑to‑Mother Support Groups and safe spaces for women and caregivers.
• Integrate IYCF screening into CMAM, health, and community outreach services and ensure referral pathways.
• Conduct supportive supervision and mentoring of health workers on IYCF counseling.
• Train health workers, community volunteers and partners on IYCF‑E and SBCC.
• Ensure availability of essential IYCF supplies and monitor their distribution.
• Collect and report IYCF indicators, track key metrics and document lessons learned.
• Coordinate with CMAM, health, WASH and food security teams and participate in nutrition clusters.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery or related health field.
• Formal training in Infant and Young Child Feeding; IYCF‑E training strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years experience in IYCF, nutrition or public health, preferably in emergency or humanitarian settings.
• Experience integrating IYCF with CMAM programs and working with health facility staff.
• Strong knowledge of national IYCF/E guidelines, CMAM approach, SPHERE standards and behavior change communication.
