Liaison Officer (Government & Legal Relations)

About the role
Yegara Space is seeking a proactive Liaison Officer to manage all external government, legal and administrative interactions on behalf of the coworking hub. The role ensures that the company’s regulatory standing remains current and that members receive seamless support for business registration and licensing.
Key responsibilities
- Represent Yegara Space at government offices, signing and processing agreements and documents as an authorized signatory.
- Assist members with business registration and licensing processes included in their membership plans, acting as a facilitator.
- Track, renew, and maintain Yegara Space’s own legal, regulatory and licensing documents (business licence, tax identification, certificates, etc.) in coordination with senior accountant and general manager.
- Maintain organized, audit‑ready filing systems for all legal and governmental records.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel for matters beyond routine administrative liaison.
- Handle outside‑facing administrative tasks such as notary services, bank documentation, municipal office visits, utility provider interactions and similar errands.
- Proactively flag upcoming regulatory deadlines, compliance risks or documentation gaps to the General Manager.
- Build and sustain reliable relationships with relevant government contacts to streamline recurring processes.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field.
- Prior experience liaising with Ethiopian government offices (trade licensing, tax authorities, municipal offices) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Ethiopian business registration, licensing and regulatory procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to documentation and deadlines.
- Trustworthy and comfortable being formally authorized to sign and represent the company externally.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities with government officials and institutions.
- Willingness and means to travel between offices as needed.
