Logistics Assistant – Warehouse (G‑4)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Logistics Assistant to support warehouse operations in Addis Ababa. The role ensures timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of supplies, contributing to the delivery of programmes for children.

Key responsibilities

• Plan incoming local supplies and allocate appropriate warehouse space.
• Receive deliveries, verify proof of delivery, inspection reports, Goods Receipt Notices and complete put‑away documentation.
• Maintain accurate bin‑card records in the VISION system and ensure proper segregation by batch, expiry date and location.
• File and archive all warehouse documents, including goods received notes and dispatch waybills, for easy retrieval.
• Keep the warehouse clean, safe and serviced; monitor third‑party contractors and coordinate repair requests.
• Assist the Senior Warehouse Associate with loading vehicles and coordinate the receipt and put‑away of returned items.

Required profile

• Experience in warehouse or logistics support, preferably in an international or humanitarian setting.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory management systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using the VISION inventory system (or similar).
