Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that all guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities are kept in optimal working condition. You will respond to repair requests, perform preventive maintenance and support the overall safety and comfort of hotel guests.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on kitchen tools, machinery and building equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually and report any issues.
• Transport equipment such as tools and radios as needed.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves and service disconnects for building systems.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and request supplies.
• Report daily activities and problems to the next shift using appropriate communication protocols.
• Perform painting, surface preparation, minor wall and wood repairs, bulb and filter replacements, and thorough cleaning of work areas.
• Diagnose and repair basic faults in plumbing, electrical components, TV systems and other guest‑room equipment.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before undertaking maintenance work.
• Maintain indoor and outdoor garden areas, including irrigation systems.
• Enter data into HVAC scheduling systems and adjust temperature settings.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or aptitude to learn across multiple building‑service disciplines.
• Ability to follow safety policies, report hazards and maintain a professional appearance.
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests and shift teams.
