Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement Manager

About the role

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking an experienced Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement Manager to lead and strengthen partnership development across Ethiopia. You will shape and implement the country’s partnership strategy, ensuring alignment with NRC’s vision, localisation commitments and humanitarian principles.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operationalise NRC Ethiopia’s Partnership Strategy and related SOPs.
• Build and maintain relationships with civil society, private sector, academic institutions and public authorities.
• Oversee the full partnership lifecycle – due diligence, selection, capacity assessments, agreement management and compliance monitoring.
• Support partners to understand donor requirements, reporting deadlines and NRC procedures, providing practical assistance as needed.
• Advise colleagues and leadership on strategic partnership decisions and promote a culture of equitable collaboration.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in humanitarian, recovery, human rights or development contexts.
• University degree combined with relevant professional background.
• Fluency in English and Amharic, both written and verbal.
• Solid understanding of the Ethiopian civil‑society and private‑sector landscape.
• Proven results in private‑sector engagement and partnership management.
