Plant Manager – Fertilizer Manufacturing

About the role

The Plant Manager will lead end‑to‑end operations of a fertilizer manufacturing facility producing a range of NPK and NPS grades as well as coated urea. The role demands strong technical expertise in chemical processing, mass and heat balance, and a focus on safety, quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily manufacturing operations, optimise production targets, throughput and quality specifications.
• Oversee solid raw material handling, precise powder dosing/blending and steam‑granulation loop operations.
• Develop, review and refine Standard Operating Procedures for all production stages.
• Monitor KPIs such as yield efficiency, energy usage and downtime, and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Enforce EHS policies, conduct hazard analyses and lead incident investigations.
• Lead and mentor shift supervisors, process engineers and operators, coordinating with maintenance, QA/QC, supply chain and planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, Agriculture or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of hands‑on experience in fertilizer plant operations with supervisory responsibility.
• Proven knowledge of NPK, NPS and coated urea formulations, raw material specifications and process dynamics.
