Programmes and Partnerships Coordinator – Ethiopia

About the role

The Donkey Sanctuary is looking for a proactive Programme and Partnerships Coordinator to support its animal‑welfare work in Ethiopia. Reporting to the Regional Programme and Partnerships Advisor – Africa, you will help ensure that internal capacities and resources are aligned with the charity’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full programme cycle for funded partnerships in Ethiopia, including processing funding applications, arranging project grants and maintaining partnership relationships.
• Prepare and submit regular reports, capture learning and ensure compliance with organisational policies, especially partner due‑diligence.
• Coordinate internal capacities, competencies and resources needed to deliver The Donkey Sanctuary’s strategies in Ethiopia.
• Monitor and evaluate Ethiopia projects to ensure they meet agreed objectives and deliver impact.

Required profile

• Significant Ethiopian experience in a sector adjacent to animal welfare, international development or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience of project or programme cycle management, ideally in animal welfare or development.
• Degree‑level education or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of project monitoring and reporting tools.
• Proven ability to work and communicate internationally and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Fluent in English.
