Project Associate – Referral (Affiliated Contractor)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Project Associate to support its Referral Mechanism initiatives. The role involves coordinating with partners, monitoring project activities, and ensuring effective resource management in migration‑related interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Support mapping of referral partners and forge strategic alliances for resource management.
• Assist in implementation and monitoring of National Referral Mechanism project activities.
• Retrieve, compile, analyze and present referral data to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor project budget, verify fund availability, obtain approvals and update budget records.
• Act as focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with diverse units and external parties.
• Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables and presentations.
• Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions; respond to complex information requests.
• Coordinate implementation activities with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field with at least three years relevant experience, or high school diploma with five years relevant experience.
• Fluency in English and Amharic (oral and written).
• Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or multi‑cultural settings is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and UN/bilateral donor programming.
