Project Facilitation Officer – Training and Workforce Development

About the role

The Project Facilitation Officer – Training and Workforce Development will coordinate workforce development interventions for unemployed and under‑employed young people participating in the iWork Programme. The role covers youth sourcing, screening, onboarding, training coordination, TVET partnerships, employability and life‑skills development, mentorship, and transition to internship opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, mobilise and recruit eligible youth across multiple locations (Addis Ababa, Adama, Harar, Dire Dawa, Jigjiga, Jimma).
• Coordinate training activities, ensuring alignment with market‑relevant competencies and TVET curricula.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with TVET institutions, One‑Stop Service centres, employers and community stakeholders.
• Facilitate mentorship programmes and support youth readiness for internships.
• Lead implementation of Pillar One of the iWork Programme, preparing young people for dignified employment.
• Uphold SOS Children’s Villages safeguarding policies and ensure compliance with child and youth protection standards.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary education or equivalent experience in project coordination, youth development, or vocational training.
• Demonstrated experience working with youth, TVET institutions, or employment programmes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding principles and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
