Project Officer – NFE Programme (Ethiopia)

About the role

The Project Officer NFE will support the successful delivery of the Non‑Formal Education (NFE) portfolio in Ethiopia, including the Youth Connect programme, ensuring compliance with British Council policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of the NFE portfolio in Ethiopia, including Youth Connect programmes, ensuring compliance with British Council policies.
• Manage financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and expenditure reporting, maintain accurate records and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Oversee programme operations through data management, quality assurance, monitoring, analysis and reporting, and administer grants in line with funder requirements.
• Coordinate procurement, events and training delivery, supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives and effective records management.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, vendors and suppliers to ensure collaborative and timely delivery of services.

Required profile

• Experience in supporting programmes or projects, with administrative and financial administration responsibilities.
• Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts and their role in project management.
• Fluency in English and Amharic.
• Bachelor’s degree (desirable).
• Legal right to work in Ethiopia.
