Regional Compliance Manager

About the role

The Regional Compliance Manager will lead corporate compliance activities across Welthungerhilfe’s East & Southern Africa Directorate. The role focuses on fraud and corruption prevention, data protection, safeguarding and handling sensitive complaints while providing functional leadership to compliance staff in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage corporate compliance across the region, covering fraud prevention, conflicts of interest, sanctions screening, data protection, safeguarding and sensitive complaints.
• Provide functional leadership to compliance officers and focal points, ensuring implementation of global compliance policies.
• Implement and strengthen the Corporate Compliance Management Program and “prevent, detect, respond” processes.
• Deliver compliance training to country office staff and partners, maintaining training records.
• Channel sensitive complaints through the global Complaints Response Mechanism and oversee investigations.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance at Head Office and with HR, IT, Finance, Supply Chain and Project Management.
• Advise regional management and country directors on strategic and operational compliance matters.
• Represent WHH Compliance in external expert meetings, associations and networks.

Required profile

• University degree in Law, Management, Administration, Audit, Finance/Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a similar compliance role.
• Understanding of the humanitarian context and experience working in multicultural environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and process‑improvement abilities.
• Experience in training and capacity building with excellent communication and influencing skills.
• High integrity, initiative, attention to detail, teamwork and resilience under pressure.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
