Representative Office Officer – Ethiopia

About the role

The Representative Office Officer will act as the primary liaison for BCIMR in Ethiopia, supporting strategic initiatives and promoting the bank’s products and services. Based in Addis Ababa, the officer will travel to Djibouti regularly to coordinate with headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Represent BCIMR in Ethiopia and promote its banking solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators, local banks, businesses, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies for brand visibility.
• Prepare periodic reports on market conditions, competition, and business prospects.
• Support onboarding of local clients and ensure high‑quality service.
• Oversee compliance matters and represent the bank in regulatory discussions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in banking or trade finance, preferably in liaison or representative roles.
• Strong understanding of Ethiopia’s banking environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, networking, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent in English and French; Amharic or other local languages are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with banking software.
