Safety, Health & Environmental Manager – Commerce

About the role

The Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager – Commerce will lead occupational safety, health, and environmental initiatives across Heineken Ethiopia’s commerce function. The role focuses on risk assessment, safety training, incident investigation, and promoting a strong safety culture within sales regions, warehouses, and road‑safety programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and embed a safety culture through campaigns, inductions, accreditation, and briefings.
• Design, deliver and maintain safety training for employees and third‑party contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, road‑safety programs and telematics monitoring.
• Monitor driver reports from telematics dashboards to encourage safe driving behaviour.
• Conduct thorough incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Report safety events promptly and coordinate accident investigations.
• Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution for sales regions and warehouses.
• Oversee contractor safety management and manual‑handling procedures.
• Maintain warehouse safety standards for Heineken and distributor sites.
• Produce bi‑weekly and monthly safety reports with trend analysis.
• Collaborate on journey‑management plans with fleet and sales teams.
• Implement 5S and good housekeeping practices in internal warehouses.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments and establish preventive barriers.
