Salesperson – Optical Retail

About the role

One Optics is seeking a full‑time Salesperson to work on‑site at its Addis Ababa store. The role involves greeting customers, understanding their vision and style needs, and guiding them to the right frames, lenses, and sunglasses.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers, assess their eyewear preferences and provide personalized recommendations.
• Explain product features, pricing, and lens options while answering customer questions.
• Process sales transactions, handle cash and maintain accurate sales records.
• Maintain organized, visually appealing product displays and ensure stock availability.
• Support minor frame adjustments and basic follow‑up after purchase.
• Coordinate with eye‑care professionals to verify prescriptions and ensure smooth customer flow.

Required profile

• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Sales, upselling and basic negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and basic product knowledge of frames and lenses.
• Organizational and time‑management capabilities.
• Basic math and cash‑handling proficiency.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks.
• Prior retail or optical shop experience is an advantage.
• Fluency in local languages and good command of English.
