Senior Demand Promotion for Immunization Consultant

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to lead demand‑promotion activities for routine immunisation, new vaccine introductions and outbreak response campaigns across Ethiopia. The consultant will provide technical expertise, design evidence‑based interventions and act as the main liaison with the Federal Ministry of Health and partner organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement social and behaviour‑change strategies to increase vaccine acceptance and uptake.
• Coordinate demand‑generation activities with national health authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Strengthen community‑engagement mechanisms and social‑listening systems.
• Monitor, document and report on the impact of interventions.
• Support frontline health workers in improving interpersonal communication and addressing vaccine hesitancy.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, health communication, social sciences or related field.
• Proven experience in demand‑generation or social‑behaviour‑change programmes for immunisation.
• Familiarity with Ethiopia’s immunisation landscape and health system.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
