Senior Supply Chain Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Supply Chain Coordinator will lead the supply chain function for Save the Children’s North Area office in Dessie, covering the Amhara, Tigray and Afar regions. The role ensures an effective, accountable system for procurement, fleet, warehousing and asset management, aligned with global and Ethiopian policies, and complies with child safeguarding and anti‑fraud requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for development and emergency supply chain activities across the three regional states.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive supply chain plan, identifying required resources.
• Manage and support supply chain staff, setting clear objectives, structures and performance expectations.
• Advise senior management on supply chain issues and ensure alignment with country‑level supply chain heads and functional managers.
• Oversee procurement, fleet, warehouse and asset management processes to guarantee efficient programme delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Save the Children’s global and Ethiopian supply chain policies, as well as child safeguarding Level 3 requirements.
• Implement fraud, bribery and corruption mitigation measures and report any suspicions promptly.

Required profile

• Significant experience in managing supply chain functions within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate across regional offices.
• Strong understanding of procurement, fleet, warehousing and asset management best practices.
• Familiarity with child safeguarding standards and anti‑fraud/compliance policies.
• Excellent communication skills and capacity to work with senior management and external partners.
