Senior Supply & Logistics Associate – Fixed Term

About the role

The Senior Supply & Logistics Associate supports UNICEF’s Logistics Unit in Addis Ababa, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and services needed for programme delivery. Working under the Supply and Logistics Officer, the incumbent handles shipping, air freight, customs and tax clearance, and related insurance matters for both routine and emergency operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input and oversight for customs clearance and shipping activities, coordinating with global forwarding agents and suppliers.
• Participate in forecasting, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of supply‑chain operations, including performance‑indicator development.
• Manage documentation and correspondence for offshore supplies (sea and air) and maintain regular follow‑up with government authorities and clearing agents.
• Monitor bonded stock status, goods‑in‑transit (GIT) and direct handovers to implementing partners, ensuring all Vision‑related details are updated.
• Offer country‑specific guidance on shipping matters such as packing, containerisation and insurance.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in supply chain, logistics or freight management, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, air and sea freight operations, and tax clearance processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government bodies, partners and internal teams.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail.
