Senior Supply/Logistics Associate (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Supply/Logistics Associate (G‑7) on a fixed‑term basis to support its Logistics Unit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Supply and Logistics Officer, handling shipping, air freight, customs and tax clearance, and related insurance matters for offshore supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input and support for customs clearance and shipping activities, coordinating with global forwarding agents and suppliers.
• Participate in forecasting, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of supply‑chain operations, including performance indicator development.
• Manage correspondence and documentation for sea and air shipments, ensuring timely hand‑overs to implementing partners.
• Maintain regular contact with local government authorities and partners to expedite customs procedures and monitor bonded stock status.
• Offer country‑specific guidance on packing, containerisation, mode of shipment, routing and shipping instructions for offshore purchase orders.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in international logistics, customs clearance and freight management.
• Strong understanding of supply‑chain processes and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with attention to detail.
