Space Applications Expert, Satellite Navigation & Connectivity

About the role

The project “Support to the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme – AESPP Boost” seeks a senior Space Applications Expert to advise on satellite navigation, GNSS, augmentation systems and satellite connectivity across Africa. The expert will support the development and uptake of space‑based services for aviation, maritime and broadband markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on GNSS, SBAS, Galileo, EGNOS and the emerging IRIS² system.
• Analyse and design satellite‑navigation and connectivity solutions for African stakeholders.
• Support policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and private‑sector engagement within the Africa‑EU partnership.
• Contribute to project proposals, reports and deliverables related to space‑based applications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote innovation and investment in the African space ecosystem.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, aeronautics, geomatics or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in satellite navigation, telecommunications or satellite connectivity.
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with GNSS, SBAS, aviation or maritime applications, or satellite broadband.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is an asset.
