Special Branch Manager

About the role

The Special Branch Manager will lead the operations of an insurance branch in Addis Ababa, ensuring efficient planning, organization and control of daily activities while driving business growth and maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all branch functions, including sales, underwriting, claims and customer service.
• Develop and implement operational plans to meet performance targets.
• Monitor financial results, budgets and expense controls.
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and internal policies.
• Lead, coach and evaluate branch staff to foster a high‑performing team.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• BA or higher degree in Management, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 9 years (BA) or 7 years (Master’s) of relevant experience, including at least 6 (BA) or 4 (Master’s) years in progressive branch‑manager roles.
• At least 2 years as a Branch Manager Grade I within an insurance company.
• Insurance profession diploma and CII preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• High dedication, hard‑working attitude and ability to work as a dependable team player.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of planning, organizing and controlling operational activities.
• Basic understanding of insurance business processes.
• Proficiency in standard computer applications.
